MEDFORD, Ore. - Although Medford-based Harry & David is struggling, not all pear-packing companies are experiencing financial issues.

Donatefruit.com saw their business triple in 2010. The company, owned by Medford-based Naumes Inc., sells gift baskets. When you buy a gift basket from Naumes, the company matches your gift, pound for pound, with a donation to food banks across the country.

"So our 'Give a Gift & Feed the Need' philosophy is really in the forefront of what we're doing, and the gifts just happen to be a part of it," said Keith Cooper, Vice President of Marketing Operations.

Last year, the company donated 1.8 million pounds of fresh fruit.

The company has a positive outlook for this year, saying they are continually adding more staff and working on their website.
